GPAI Code of Practice (published 10 July 2025; endorsed 1 August 2025)
Claim
The General-Purpose AI Code of Practice was published by the European Commission’s AI Office on 10 July 2025, and the Commission and the AI Board formally backed it on 1 August 2025. It has three chapters (Transparency; Copyright; Safety and Security) covering 12 commitments. xAI signed only the Safety and Security chapter. Amazon, Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, Anthropic and others signed all three. Meta refused to sign.
